York College, founded in 1966, is a center of academic excellence in the heart of Jamaica, Queens. The College also offers six graduate programs: Aviation Management, Clinical Trials Management, Pharmaceutical Science and Business, Physician Assistant, Social Work and Nursing Education.

The Enrollment Registrar Director is a pivotal leader responsible for managing and safeguarding all official academic records while ensuring compliance with University, College, Federal, and State policies and regulations, including FERPA guidelines. Reporting to the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, this role oversees technology-based student information systems critical to College operations, including course registration, class scheduling, articulation agreements, degree audits, transcripts, graduation processes, and student progress monitoring.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Develop and implement administrative policies, procedures, and technology to optimize service efficiency and accuracy; Act as the custodian of academic records, maintaining their integrity, confidentiality, and security.
• Manage compliance with Federal, State, and City reporting and record-keeping requirements.
• Serve on University and College-wide academic and administrative committees, including the CUNY Council of Registrars.
• Partner with faculty, staff, Senate, and curriculum committees to develop, implement, and enforce academic policies consistently and effectively.
• Collaborate with University and campus Registrars to model and implement best practices.
• Engage in strategic planning to align academic and enrollment goals with the University's objectives.
• Oversee and audit student records, including academic performance and transfer credit evaluations.
• Lead administrative, technical, and operational activities related to student records, degree audits, diploma production, and information security.
• Implement and maintain curriculum changes, course catalogs, and class schedules using the University's technology platforms (e.g. CUNYFirst, EAB Navigate, CourseDog); Serve as a resource for curriculum matters, academic standards, and graduation requirements.
• Lead the administrative and operational activities of the Registrar?s Office, defining and developing core business processes, policies, and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate expertise in academic administration, compliance, and student information systems, with a proven ability to lead strategic planning, operational improvements, and collaborative initiatives to support institutional goals.

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

Directs College registration operations and serves as Registrar.

• Provides leadership in advancing the College's enrollment goals and is responsible for all activities associated with the registration process
• Develops strategic plan to address student enrollment, registration activities, data collection and dissemination, records confidentiality and degree audit protocol; assures quality of testing and implementation of system updates
• Oversees a wide array of enrollment and retention initiatives and special projects; recommends and administers enhanced technology applications to improve processing systems and data integrity
• Assesses outcomes and formulates responses to meet established goals and objectives; presents performance results data to facilitate executive decision-making
• Ensures reporting requirements are completed in timely and accurate manner to fulfill various legal obligations; maintains audit trails
• Manages professional and clerical staff as well as department budget
• Performs related duties as assigned.

$115,333 - $124,656 - Salary commensurate with education and experience.

CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 6.09% with additional increases of 3.25% effective 9/1/2025 and 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
