Under general supervision of the Production Manager, the Rigging Coordinator will perform work as needed to maintain and operate and the flyrail system for events in Capital One Hall. The Rigging Coordinator will work with the Production Manager and the Technical Director on production rigging, advances as well as schedule the appropriate crew. Essential duties include participating in rigging advance for shows, scheduling crews, supervising rigging and fly crew on show days, operating and maintaining flyrail systems, assisting in design of rigging systems, and working with Texas Scenic to maintain flyrail system. The position requires knowledge and use of procedures, techniques, machines, materials, equipment, and tools used in technical construction and maintenance, lighting, sound, audiovisual, and rigging equipment at Capital One Hall. The candidate must maintain effective working relationships, read and comprehend blueprints and drawings, follow instructions, and communicate effectively. Education and experience requirements include current ETCP certification in Theater Rigging, preferred additional ETCP certification in Arena Rigging, in-depth knowledge of single-purchase counterweight systems and electrical hoist-based rigging systems, and preferred theater flyrail installation experience. Physical requirements include moving around the facility, standing for long hours, talking and hearing, working inside or outside as needed, stooping, lifting up to 75 lbs.
