We are seeking a talented and strategic Art Director to join our growing creative team and work directly with the Senior Creative Director. This person will play a key role in leading brand storytelling across platforms, developing bold social campaigns, and driving innovation in how we build and sell new brand service offerings—especially around AI, branding, and positioning.

This role will also help shape and evolve how we develop brand decks and identity packages for new and existing clients, with a strong understanding of category whitespace, trends, and brand architecture. Experience using AI as a strategic tool for ideation, storytelling, and content development is a must.

As an Art Director, You Will:

  • Brand Positioning & Concept Development Use strategic insights to inform brand positioning, campaign narratives, and product storytelling—especially as we build out new creative services and packages to sell. Identify what makes a brand different and build decks that articulate that story with clarity and confidence.

  • AI-Driven Creativity Leverage AI tools (like ChatGPT, Midjourney, and others) to accelerate deck development, trend scanning, initial creative ideas, and mockups. Use AI as a co-pilot to increase efficiency without sacrificing originality or vision.

  • Brand Deck & Identity Building Develop and present brand decks that include positioning statements, mission/vision frameworks, tone of voice, visual mood boards, fonts, music, and design guidance. Refresh outdated guidelines and craft new ones from scratch.

  • Campaign / Theme Development (Concepting & Copy) Develop monthly story arcs anchored in brand insights, industry trends, and cultural moments. Translate ideas into a strategic content mix using our 4Cs and content framework.

  • Account & Brand Setup Own creative onboarding—organizing brand assets, writing high-level Do’s and Don’ts, crafting initial brand voice and tone guides, and setting creative foundations.

  • Storyboarding & Asset Planning Quickly sketch storyboards, reference libraries, and production shot lists that help photo, motion, and design teams execute with clarity.

  • Creative Leadership & Client Communication Lead internal brainstorms, guide junior creatives, pitch concepts in client-facing meetings, and help navigate challenging client dynamics with strategic poise.

  • Team Management & Coaching Support the SCD in developing team capabilities, managing project timelines, leading ideation sessions, and ensuring creative alignment across disciplines.

Key Skills for Success

Hard Skills:

  • Sharp creative eye with a strong foundation in design, photography, and motion graphics - skilled at translating visual principles like composition, color, and storytelling across mediums

  • Experience with brand identity and positioning strategy, including whitespace mapping, category analysis, and consumer personas

  • Proficiency with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Midjourney, DALL·E, etc.) for idea generation, creating visual decks and storytelling

  • Comfort building brand decks and visual frameworks from scratch

  • Team leadership across cross-functional creative teams

Soft Skills:

  • Strategic, resourceful, and imaginative

  • Comfortable leading without ego—both internally and with clients

  • Strong storytelling and presentation skills

  • Excellent problem-solving under pressure

  • Ability to translate complex client feedback into clear creative actions

  • Growth mindset with a willingness to try, test, and evolve

Bonus Points:
  • Copywriting experience or ability to translate tone/voice into on-brand copy

  • Experience launching new products or brands in CPG or DTC spaces

  • Confidence using AI for creative development beyond just ideation

  • A portfolio that showcases both strategic thinking and visual innovation

  • Experience in brand management, brand creative or content development for established or emerging brands

Required Experience
  • 2-4 years in an Art Director role

  • Experience leading creative teams and interfacing directly with clients

  • Excellent communication and time management skills

Compensation

$80K - $90K annually
